Job Description
**Job title** Infrastructure Analyst **Role Summary** Responsible for designing, managing, and enhancing VMware vSphere and SAN environments while ensuring robust disaster recovery, backup, and security hardening. Works on a 50/50 mix of project delivery and reactive BAU support, collaborating closely with Infrastructure, InfoSec, and application teams to strengthen overall IT security posture. **Expectations** - Deliver both proactive projects and reactive incident support with equal focus. - Collaborate with BAU and project teams to maintain high availability and security compliance. - Maintain and improve virtualised infrastructure, SAN storage, and HCI toolsets. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, manage, and harden VMware vSphere infrastructures and related SAN storage arrays (EMC, Broadcom, Commvault). - Oversee HCI (Hyper‑Converged Infrastructure) platforms such as vSAN, VxRail, SimpliVity, HyperFlex, Nutanix. - Lead disaster recovery operations, backup creation, and restoration procedures. - Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting. - Partner with InfoSec to enforce security protocols (SSO, MFA, PIM/PAM, PKI, Zero Trust). - Harden Windows servers, Active Directory, Azure resources, and related services. - Configure virtualised environments for internal teams and backup solutions. - Participate in project management and delivery for infrastructure upgrades and security initiatives. **Required Skills** - Extensive Wintel engineering experience (Windows Server, AD/Entra, Group Policy). - Expert VMware vSphere deployment, management, and hardening. - Proven SAN expertise across EMC, Broadcom, Commvault, and similar technologies. - Strong experience with backup & restore in virtualised environments. - Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for management and automation. - Familiarity with HCI platforms (vSAN, VxRail, SimpliVity, HyperFlex, Nutanix). - Knowledge of security protocols: PIM/PAM, PKI, MFA, SSO, Zero Trust. - Understanding of infrastructure cyber‑security monitoring and response. - Project delivery experience in SAN / VMware environments. - Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of liaising with process‑driven departments such as InfoSec. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ‑203, AZ‑303, AZ‑305) and Security‑related certifications (SC‑200, SC‑300, SC‑400). - VMware certifications (VCP‑VCF, VCP‑7, VCP‑VCP) or equivalent. - Optional: Dell EMC, HPE, or other SAN‑specific vendor certifications.
