Job Description
**Job Title:** Mining Operations Engineer (M/F) **Role Summary:** Oversee day‑to‑day mining operations, coordinating a core team and subcontractors to meet production, safety, and quality targets while managing costs, inventory, and maintenance. **Expectations:** • Deliver production volumes on a tight, just‑in‑time schedule with minimal storage. • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations (ISO 14001, RGIE, labor codes). • Foster continuous improvement through WCM, 5S, and preventive maintenance initiatives. • Communicate effectively with senior management and external partners. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage a team of 5 internal staff and 5–6 subcontractors. - Plan and schedule daily production activities; maintain accurate resource and labor calendars. - Oversee extraction (drilling, blasting) and ore handling, monitoring key regulatory parameters (noise, vibration, dust). - Control intermediate and safety stock levels; coordinate logistics and material flows. - Implement and enforce safety and hygiene procedures across the site. - Lead the maintenance program (contracted) for ~150 k € equipment; diagnose failures, coordinate external interventions, and develop preventive plans. - Contribute to budget preparation and investment decisions; evaluate cost‑saving opportunities. - Implement WCM practices: machine documentation, spare‑part inventory, equipment classification, and 5S. - Potentially supervise a second site and act as deputy manager when the site head is absent. **Required Skills:** - Leadership and team coordination. - Strong organizational and analytical abilities. - Knowledge of mining safety and environmental regulations. - Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Windows productivity suite. - Competence in electrical and mechanical systems; understanding of geological and geotechnical concepts is advantageous. - Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages welcome. - Results‑oriented, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and quality improvement. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (Bac + 5) in Engineering (Generalist, Mining, Geology, Maintenance Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent). - Industry‑specific certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, RGIE) or training in mine safety is a plus.
