**Job Title:** Network Engineer (6‑month contract)
**Role Summary:**
Provide administration, support, and troubleshooting for a mission‑critical, high‑availability enterprise network spanning LAN, WAN, wireless, and security domains. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver network upgrades, capacity planning, and documentation for a large‑scale environment.
**Expectations:**
- 4–5+ years delivering network projects in live customer environments, preferably involving refresh/upgrade programs.
- Proven ability to create High‑Level Designs (HLDs) and Low‑Level Designs (LLDs) with architectural diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to isolate and resolve network issues quickly.
- Effective communication with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network problems across Cisco and third‑party platforms.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, builds, and design diagrams.
- Gather detailed requirements from internal customers and translate them into network solutions.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors (cabling providers, ISPs) for service delivery and issue resolution.
- Model, analyze, and plan network capacity and performance.
- Install, upgrade, and configure network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers).
- Perform packet capture and analysis using tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds.
**Required Skills:**
- LAN/WAN design and implementation expertise; Cisco Nexus (1000v‑9000), Cisco 3900/3800 routers, Cisco 3700/3500/2900 switches.
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls and security tech: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Check Point, Pulse Secure SSL VPN, VMware NSX.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols: SAML, SSO, LDAP, Active Directory.
- Proficiency with IPsec, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, proxy, SSL/TLS.
- Familiarity with F5 BIG‑IP load balancers and wireless technologies (WLCs, APs).
- Ability to produce diagrams in Microsoft Visio.
- Experience with packet capture/analysis tools (Wireshark/Ethereal, SolarWinds or equivalents).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field **or** equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, or comparable vendor certifications.
