Automation Engineer

Job Description

Job title: Automation Engineer Role Summary: Design and implement electronic and software systems for production and testing of electric propulsion units for satellites. Automate and enhance production line processes, develop digital tools, and ensure continuous improvement of test control while documenting all work. Expectations: Deliver robust automation solutions that increase production efficiency and product reliability. Collaborate closely with industrialization, production, and engineering teams; maintain high documentation standards; communicate effectively in English, with French a plus. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deploy electronic and software components for manufacturing and testing facilities. - Automate production line processes and control test equipment to improve reliability and throughput. - Create and integrate digital interfaces, dashboards, and data‑tracking tools for real‑time monitoring and analysis. - Continuously refine automation strategies and test control implementations. - Produce detailed documentation: design reports, procedures, validation records. - Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams in industrialization, production, and engineering. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in electronic design (schematics, PCB layout, component selection). - Rapid prototyping and integration experience. - Software development in Python, C/C++ or equivalent. - Development of user interfaces and dashboards for data control/visualization. - Solid understanding of production line automation and industrial control concepts. - Self‑driven, methodical, with a passion for space technology. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in engineering (embedded systems, electronics, robotics, or equivalent). - Preferred: Experience in industrial production or space sector. - Professional language proficiency: English (compulsory); French appreciated.
