Job Description

**Job Title:** QA Engineer (Test Engineer) **Role Summary:** Quality Assurance professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions within agile squads. Works closely with developers to ensure software is built for testability, influences backlog grooming, and drives quality throughout the development lifecycle. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable, repeatable automated test suites for web applications. - Advocate BDD practices and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve testability. - Identify, investigate, and document defects promptly. - Contribute to continuous improvement of testing tools, processes, and documentation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participate in backlog grooming and refinement to influence quality criteria. - Develop and execute automated testing strategies for new features. - Apply BDD (e.g., Gherkin) to create readable, maintainable test cases. - Support developers in creating highly testable code. - Raise, investigate, and log defects; track resolution status. - Enhance testing frameworks and tooling for reusability and scalability. - Review and update technical documentation related to testing. - Communicate test progress, results, and risks to stakeholders. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years of automation testing experience. - Proficiency with modern web testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress). - Hands‑on experience with BDD methodologies. - Ability to test and debug web applications on mobile devices. - Familiarity with React, HTML5, CSS3. - Strong version‑control knowledge (Git). - Understanding of REST, GraphQL, asynchronous messaging, JSON. - Good problem‑solving and communication skills. **Desired (but not essential) Skills:** - Experience with scalable cloud/distributed architectures. - Knowledge of accessibility standards and testing tools. - API, security, and load testing experience. - CI/CD pipeline integration. - Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). - DevOps mindset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - No specific certifications required; relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
