Job Description
Job Title: Jr. Data Scientist Role Summary: Junior Data Scientist engaged in GEOINT data initiatives supporting national security. Works with data engineering and visualization teams to extract insights from structured and unstructured data, develop predictive models, and contribute to agile delivery of analytics solutions. Expactations: Operate within an Agile (Scrum) team, adhere to safety and quality policies, maintain compliance with federal contractor regulations, and keep confidentiality protocols (TS/SCI with Poly) up to date. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze large structured datasets to identify anomalies and correlations. - Perform deep‑dive analytics, diagnose data quality issues, and recommend solutions. - Develop, document, and deploy models for forecasting, optimization, and recommendation support. - Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into production environments. - Participate in continuous improvement of data quality and delivery speed. - Maintain metadata, categorize data, and construct metadata application profiles. - Follow company safety, quality, and procedural compliance standards. Required Skills: - Proficient in Python, R, Scala, JavaScript, or C++; documented code for reproducibility. - Experience with visual programming or object‑oriented modeling workflows for data acquisition. - Strong analytical methodology skills: data mining, predictive analysis, statistical analysis, exploratory analysis. - Familiarity with Apache Hadoop, HUE, Hive, Pig, Spark, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Tableau. - AI/ML experience and knowledge of metadata standards. - GIS-related application experience and search tool proficiency. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) plus 1–3 years of experience, or Master’s plus 1–3 years. - TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
