Job Description: Job Title: Data Engineer – Confirmed (F/M) Role Summary: Lead data initiatives in a high‑pressure, under‑documented environment, balancing data analysis, engineering, and project management. Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver actionable insights and robust data solutions. Expectations: - Minimum 7 years in data engineering or analytics. - Mature, autonomous professional with strong relational and diplomatic skills. - Proven ability to thrive in complex, loosely structured settings. - Leadership experience and capacity to upskill junior team members. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and explore complex databases, uncovering patterns and data quality issues. - Understand and document data models; conduct detailed table exploration. - Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and structuring workflows. - Perform advanced SQL querying to support stakeholders’ analytical needs. - Manage end‑to‑end data projects, prioritizing proactive information gathering. - Coordinate with a data technician (Talend / Power BI) and their manager. - Mentor two trainees, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer. - Maintain clear communication with business units, technical peers, and external partners. Required Skills: - Extensive experience as Data Analyst or Data Engineer. - Expert command of SQL on relational databases; solid grasp of database theory and data modelling. - Project management proficiency, including scheduling, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement. - Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and a proactive mindset. - Leadership and mentoring capabilities. - Familiarity with Talend, Power BI, or similar ETL/BI tools is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) preferred but not mandatory.
