Engineering Student – Dual‑Degree, Voluntary Officer Aspirant (École Navale)
Role Summary
A 2‑year, dual‑degree training program for first‑year engineering students from partner institutions (CentraleSupélec, EDHEC Lille, IMT Atlantique, Arts et Métiers, IPSA). Candidates attend the initial year at École Navale, gaining maritime, scientific, and military education, then return to their home school to complete the remaining engineering studies and earn a dual Engineer’s Diploma. The role combines academic coursework with naval training, discipline, and physical conditioning.
Expectations
- Successfully complete one academic year at a partner engineering school.
- Pass the rigorous selection (medical, physical, psychometric, interview, commission).
- Attend and finish the two consecutive years of training at École Navale as a voluntary officer aspirant.
- Maintain required military conduct, physical fitness, and academic performance.
- Re‑integrate into home university curriculum upon completion of naval training or transition to reserve/long‑term officer program.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend theoretical and practical classes in maritime engineering, navigation, energy systems, signals and waves, data science & AI, and vessel platform operations.
- Participate in naval exercises, shipboard drills, and operational simulations.
- Complete military training modules (basic officer skills, leadership, ethics).
- Submit academic reports, maintain training logs, and comply with institutional health and safety standards.
- Prepare for evaluations and oral examinations before the commissioning jury.
Required Skills
- Strong foundation in engineering principles (mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines).
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to multidisciplinary environments, and work within a team.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- Discipline, responsibility, and respect for military protocol.

Required Education & Certifications
- Current undergraduate engineering student in the first year at one of the following institutions: CentraleSupélec, EDHEC Lille, IMT Atlantique, Arts et Métiers, IPSA.
- Valid registration with the university’s selection board and confirmation of first‑year completion.
- No additional certifications required; however, a valid driver’s licence is beneficial for mobility.
