Job Description
Job title: Senior Advisor – Artificial Intelligence Role Summary: Provide strategic advisory to senior government officials on the adoption, governance, and impact of artificial intelligence. Bridge the gap between technological capabilities and political objectives, enabling responsible, scalable AI solutions that align with national priorities. Work across policy, partnerships, technology, and communications to deliver actionable insights and support implementation. Expactations: - Lead AI advisory engagements with senior leaders and ministries. - Translate technical AI concepts into policy‐driven strategies. - Shape investment, procurement, and regulatory frameworks for AI. - Ensure AI solutions are politically relevant, ethically sound, and digitally feasible. - Build and sustain cross‑sector partnerships that accelerate AI adoption. Key Responsibilities: - Identify high‑impact, implementable AI applications for public services. - Assess and report on a country’s digital readiness and AI maturity. - Co‑design AI strategies that support national policy goals and budget planning. - Advise on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and ethical considerations. - Support the design and deployment of AI pilots in partnership with delivery agencies. - Develop guidance documents, toolkits, and communication materials for policymakers. - Collaborate with government innovation teams, policy analysts, partnership units, and communications staff to align initiatives. - Interact with country‑level teams to ensure strategy resonance at the on‑the‑ground level. Required Skills: - Deep knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, and emerging AI technologies. - Strong political acumen and experience engaging senior government officials. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into policy recommendations. - Strategy formulation, investment analysis, and budget development skills. - Project management and cross‑functional collaboration. - Excellent written and oral communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation. - Analytical mindset to evaluate digital readiness and impact. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field. - Advanced project or policy qualification preferred. - Relevant certifications in AI/ML, data science, or public sector policy strengthen candidacy.
