Job Description
**Job title:** Manager Data Center (Woking) **Role Summary:** Lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of one or more data centre sites. Ensure optimum asset performance, energy efficiency, compliance, and customer service through effective people, process, and technology management. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable, secure, and efficient data centre operations in line with Service Excellence, Infrastructure Excellence, Sustainability, and Governance pillars. - Maintain 100 % compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. - Meet or exceed key performance and SLA targets while controlling costs and driving sustainability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee health & safety, governance, and risk compliance for all site activities, including inductions, supplier permits, and SOC/ISO alignment. - Manage day‑to‑day operational efficiency: oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, remote hands, customer service tasks, audits, and alarm monitoring. - Lead the site’s energy‑efficiency initiatives, coordinating with energy, ICT, and facilities teams. - Directly manage the site team: recruit, train, coach, evaluate performance, and foster a high‑performance culture. - Control site budget for operational expenses, cleanliness, and facility upkeep. - Approve capacity requests for power, space, and cooling; provide CAPEX feedback and alternatives; support solution engineering in capacity planning. - Validate final installation work from implementation and project teams. - Own incident and problem management to reduce disruption and improve service reliability. - Maintain accurate documentation: SLDs, as‑built, SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, BCPs, and the Multi‑Year Site Plan. - Contribute to long‑term planning, budgeting, and cross‑functional projects. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience in mission‑critical mechanical & electrical facilities (IT/Telecom preferred). - Strong technical facilities management and governance skills. - Leadership experience managing direct and indirect reports. - Familiarity with data centre infrastructure and industry standards (e.g., Uptime, TIA‑942). - Experience with maintenance management systems and Excel‑based tools. - Knowledge of ITIL and/or ServiceNow advantageous. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving abilities. - Pro‑active, resilient, and outcome‑focused mindset. - Fluency in English (written and spoken). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, IT, or related field. - Facility Management or Data Centre certification (e.g., CDM, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.
