Job Description

**Job Title:** Networking Specialist **Role Summary:** Seasoned networking professional (≈10 years) to design, deploy, and maintain high‑performance data‑centre network infrastructure. Work cross‑functionally to ensure secure, resilient, and optimized layer‑2/3 environments supporting core business services and hybrid cloud connectivity. **Expectations:** - Deliver end‑to‑end network solutions from design through initial operation. - Build trust with internal teams and external partners quickly. - Uphold security, redundancy, and compliance standards. - Produce clear documentation and support incident response and migrations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and maintain data‑centre networking (L2/L3 topologies). - Manage MPLS and VPLS networks; configure edge and core routers. - Provision and oversee cross‑connects with infrastructure providers/peering partners. - Configure firewalls (rules, VPNs, HA, traffic shaping) and perform troubleshooting. - Administer Mellanox (high‑throughput) and Meraki (cloud‑managed) switches. - Collaborate with systems/platform teams for scalable, fault‑tolerant deployments. - Ensure network security, redundancy, and regulatory compliance. - Document topology, configuration standards, and troubleshooting procedures. - Support migrations, incident response, and performance tuning in hybrid environments. **Required Skills:** - 10 + years in data‑centre networking. - Hands‑on MPLS, VPLS, and cross‑connect experience. - Strong routing knowledge (OSPF, BGP, traffic engineering). - Firewall configuration and troubleshooting. - Expertise with Mellanox and Meraki switching platforms. - VLAN segmentation, link aggregation, QoS implementation. - Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) – advantageous. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field. - Preferred certifications: CCNP, JNCIS, or comparable vendor‑specific qualifications. - Additional beneficial knowledge: software‑defined storage platforms, hybrid cloud networking (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute).
