**Job Title:** Digital Investigation Intern **Role Summary:** Assist the Serious and Organised Crime unit in conducting digital forensic investigations. Acquire hands‑on experience with forensic tools, evidence recovery, and case support at crime scenes, while participating in research, training, and recruitment outreach. **Expectations:** - Work full‑time (up to 37 hrs/week). - Complete training modules and maintain compliance with ethics and data‑handling standards. - Attend crime scenes, assist in device triage, and contribute to evidence documentation. - Represent the department at university events and fare​s. - Collaborate with investigators and support research projects. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Operate forensic software to recover and analyze digital evidence. 2. Assist in device collection, preservation, and triage at crime scenes. 3. Document findings, update case files, and ensure chain‑of‑custody integrity. 4. Participate in evidence management and quality‑control procedures. 5. Support research initiatives related to digital investigation methods. 6. Present at campus outreach events to promote digital investigation careers. 7. Provide feedback on workflow improvements and learning new tools. **Required Skills:** - Strong interest in cyber security, digital technology, or forensic science. - Detail‑oriented with excellent organisational abilities. - Effective verbal and written communication; teamwork competence. - Quickly learn new forensic techniques and forensic software. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrolment in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (any discipline). - No prior policing experience required. - Completion of relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Cyber Forensics Professional) is advantageous but not mandatory.
