Job Description
Job title: Learning and Development Specialist Role Summary: Provide interim L&D support for a retail business, delivering induction, training needs analysis, career development, and blended learning programs, while managing external training suppliers and supervising a team member. Expectations: - Interim assignment of 3–6 months, starting February 2026. - Hybrid work model with occasional travel within the South Coast region. - Deliver high‑quality learning solutions across all business levels. - Manage one direct report and coordinate with external vendors. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop, and implement blended learning curricula for new hires and existing staff. 2. Conduct training needs analyses and create competency frameworks. 3. Lead career development projects, including skill gap assessments and succession planning. 4. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with external training suppliers. 5. Monitor and report on learning program effectiveness and participant feedback. 6. Provide coaching and support to a junior L&D team member. 7. Maintain L&D documentation, LMS records, and training registers. Required Skills: - Learning design & curriculum development - Blended and digital learning delivery - Training needs analysis & competency mapping - Project management and vendor relationship management - Strong written and verbal communication - Data‑driven evaluation of learning outcomes - Time management and ability to meet deadlines Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, or related field. - Professional L&D certification (e.g., CPLP, ATD, CIPD L&D) preferred. - Minimum 3 years of L&D experience in a corporate or retail setting.
