**Job title**
Infrastructure Engineer
**Role summary**
Provide end‑to‑end support and project delivery for a modern, security‑focused IT estate. Act as a senior escalation point, mentor junior staff, maintain infrastructure stability, and improve cloud, networking, and cyber security capabilities while translating technical concepts for all business levels.
**Experiences**
- 3+ years in an Infrastructure Engineer, IT Engineer, or senior support role in a corporate environment.
- Hands‑on experience administering Windows desktop (Windows 11) and core networking components.
- Defined role in Microsoft 365 (identity, device management, collaboration).
- Practical knowledge of virtualised and cloud platforms (Azure or equivalent).
- Proven ability to manage incidents, coordinate with vendors, and maintain documentation.
**Key responsibilities**
- Senior escalation point for end‑user support (onsite and remote).
- Deputise for the Head of IT on infrastructure and operations.
- Mentor and support junior team members; enforce best practices.
- Deliver and maintain infrastructure and cloud projects while handling day‑to‑day operations.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Windows desktop, and core networking (DNS, DHCP, routers, switches).
- Maintain virtualised/cloud platforms ensuring performance, availability, and resilience.
- Strengthen cyber security controls, access management, endpoint protection, and policy adherence.
- Manage incidents end‑to‑end, liaise with third‑party vendors, and participate in out‑of‑hours support rotation.
- Produce clear, structured technical documentation per internal standards.
**Required skills**
- Windows desktop administration (Windows 10/11).
- Core networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching.
- Microsoft 365 administration (Identity, Devices, Collaboration).
- Virtualisation and cloud platform support (Azure/VMware/Hyper‑V).
- Cyber security fundamentals (access controls, firewalls, endpoint protection, data protection).
- Backup, recovery, and high‑availability environments.
- Incident management and vendor coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
**Optional / desirable skills**
- Scripting or automation (PowerShell, Power Automate, or similar).
- Vendor management or third‑party assurance experience.
- Exposure to DLP, information protection, compliance, or governance tooling.
**Required education & certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
