Job title: Infrastructure Engineering Manager – Cloud/HPC
Role Summary: Lead and grow a DevOps and System Administration team to design, implement, and operate secure, resilient cloud and HPC infrastructure (primarily GCP and OVH). Drive technical decisions, infrastructure standards, CI/CD support, monitoring, governance, cost optimization, and incident response to enable quantum hardware and research workloads.
Expectations: • 6+ years in infrastructure engineering, 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Proven experience with GCP; familiarity with OVH.
• Strong background in Terraform, Ansible (or equivalent), network architecture (VPC, VPN, LB, DNS, firewall), Linux administration, containers (Docker), Kubernetes, IAM/security (SOC2, ISO27001, NCA‑CCC/ECC).
• Hands‑on CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI preferred).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and impact‑driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage, mentor, and scale the DevOps/Systems team.
• Design and deploy secure, high‑availability cloud infrastructure.
• Connect quantum processors to users via cloud platform and HPC software stack.
• Operate and maintain the internal HPC cluster for research workloads.
• Define architecture standards covering networking, identity, cost, security, and observability.
• Support application teams with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and environment provisioning.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
• Enforce cloud governance, compliance, and budget discipline.
• Collaborate with department leaders to align technical strategy with business goals.
Required Skills: • People management and team leadership.
• Deep knowledge of GCP and/ or other public cloud platforms.
• IaC expertise (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible, XCAT).
• Proficient in network stack (VPC, VPN, LB, DNS).
• Linux systems administration; containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• IAM, encryption, and regulatory compliance (SOC2, ISO27001).
• CI/CD tool proficiency, preferably GitLab CI.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and IaC (Terraform) are advantageous.
