Job Description

Job Title: Senior Backend Python Developer – Freelance Role Summary: Deliver and maintain highly scalable Python backend services for a high‑tech acquisition platform using Django, FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform on GCP. Expectations: - 6‑month or longer freelance engagement. - Blend remote and on‑site work: 2 days per week on site (Paris or Bordeaux) or full remote with occasional on‑site visits. - Pay range €550–€600/day. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs and background services. - Implement and maintain microservices and SOA architectures. - Build, test, and containerise applications using Docker. - Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes with infrastructure as code (Terraform) targeting GCP. - Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate with front‑end frameworks. - Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues and improve system resilience. - Document technical designs, APIs, and code standards. - Communicate progress and technical concepts clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders. Required Skills: - Advanced Python programming. - Deep experience with Django and FastAPI. - Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GCP services. - Strong knowledge of distributed systems, micro‑services, and SOA patterns. - Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular). - Excellent written and spoken English; ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences. - Good communication, problem‑solving, and team collaboration skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Docker Certified Associate) are a plus.
