Job Description

Job title: Senior Software Developer Role Summary: Full‑stack software engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern web applications and RESTful services for operational policing, leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure, JavaScript frameworks, and Java backend services. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, scalable, and secure solutions in a collaborative DevOps environment, continuously research emerging technologies, and iterate on user‑centric designs. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deploy responsive web applications (Angular, React, Vue) and corresponding Java microservices. - Implement REST APIs, SQL queries, and data model design for structured and graph databases. - Collaborate with Cloud Services Team, IT&D stakeholders, and end users to translate business requirements into functional solutions. - Optimize performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of mission‑critical systems. - Engage in continuous integration/delivery pipelines, code reviews, and version‑control best practices. - Prototype new features quickly and present to technical and non‑technical audiences. Required Skills: - Advanced proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue) and responsive UI design. - Strong Java programming and REST API development experience. - SQL database design, querying, and optimization; familiarity with relational and graph databases. - Cloud computing fundamentals, AWS services, and serverless concepts. - Version control using Git; experience with CI/CD workflows. - Security fundamentals: authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0), SPA security. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent professional experience). - Relevant cloud or security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are desirable.
