Job title: Cloud Infrastructure Technician
Role Summary: Provide day‑to‑day support, monitoring, and basic configuration for cloud‑based infrastructure, handle incidents, and maintain documentation while collaborating with cloud engineers.
Expectations: Operate cloud environments, respond to alerts, perform routine checks, troubleshoot issues, apply security best practices, ensure compliance, and support disaster recovery tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Provision, maintain, and decommission compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Assist with backup, recovery, and high‑availability tasks.
- Conduct routine infrastructure checks and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot basic cloud infrastructure and connectivity problems.
- Support identity and access management (IAM/RBAC) tasks.
- Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers and follow incident, change, and problem management procedures.
- Implement basic cloud security controls and apply access restrictions.
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Participate in vulnerability remediation and compliance assessments.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, asset inventories, and configuration records.
- Coordinate with cloud, network, and DevOps teams and answer on‑call or shift‑based support requests.
Required Skills
- Understanding of compute, storage, and networking fundamentals in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of virtual machines, cloud networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging.
- Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems.
- Ability to follow incident, change, and problem‑management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Preferred entry‑level certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900), or CompTIA Cloud+.
