Job title: DevOps Engineer – AWS
Role Summary
Execute migration of legacy group environments to the AWS Landing Zone using replatforming or refactoring strategies, while delivering secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure solutions. Lead IaC, CI/CD pipeline creation, security hardening, and documentation for all migration phases, ensuring compliance with internal IT processes.
Expectations
* Lead end‑to‑end migrations of validated legacy environments to the AWS Landing Zone.
* Assess technical feasibility and data sensitivity of applications for migration.
* Produce comprehensive technical documentation in English and provide weekly status reports to the Technical Infrastructure Competence Center.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and execute migrations, choosing replatforming, refactoring or lift‑and‑shift as appropriate.
2. Perform application dependency analysis and migration strategy planning.
3. Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EBS, CloudWatch).
4. Develop IaC scripts in Terraform and maintain version control, testing, and code review processes.
5. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline, integrating automated tests and rollbacks.
6. Automate provisioning and management of AWS resources through scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
7. Enforce AWS security best practices (encryption, secrets management, MFA, NACL, security groups).
8. Monitor resources and logs with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK; implement incident detection and response.
9. Deliver technical documentation, knowledge transfer sessions, and internal training.
Required Skills
* Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EBS, CloudWatch).
* Expertise in Terraform IaC, versioning, testing, and refactoring infrastructure.
* Proficiency in CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline) and automated deployment pipelines.
* Advanced scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
* Strong grasp of AWS security controls, compliance, and audit logging.
* Experience with AWS migration services (Database Migration Service, Server Migration Service).
* Monitoring, log aggregation, and incident response skills using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
* English proficiency for documentation and communication.
Required Education & Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
* AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional/Associate.
* Terraform Associate certification is preferred.
