Job Description
Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer Role Summary: Lead the end-to-end migration of legacy Linux systems to cloud‑native environments while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. Own platform decisions, design infrastructure‑as‑code, and collaborate across engineering, data science, and hardware teams to deliver high‑impact solutions. Expectations: - Execute rapid, hands‑on platform build‑outs within a 3‑month contract, with potential extension. - Operate in a cloud‑agnostic stack (AWS & GCP) and produce repeatable, automated deployments. - Spearhead container strategy using Docker and Kubernetes, and manage deployments with Terraform & Ansible. - Implement monitoring (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus) and automate observability pipelines. - Resolve complex issues at the intersection of hardware and software, delivering resilient architecture. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS & GCP. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring alerts, and scaling workflows. - Provision and secure compute, networking and storage assets. - Script and automate operational tasks with Python, Bash and configuration tools. - Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance tuning. - Liaise with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into platform solutions. - Mentor junior staff and own knowledge transfer. Required Skills: - Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting. - Proficiency with public cloud services (AWS, GCP, or both). - Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). - Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Ansible). - Monitoring & observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus). - Python scripting and automation. - Excellent problem‑solving in fast‑paced, collaborative environments. - Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (preferred). - Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect). - Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or Ansible are a plus.
