The role evolves from data engineering and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) prototyping to full‑scale deployment of AI agents that orchestrate business processes across Google Cloud Platform and Workspace. Successive phases enable growth toward a future lead AI & Automation Engineer. **Expactations** - Deliver a working RAG prototype in year 1, ingesting ~10 000 documents, producing precise, citation‑aware answers. - Move prototype to production in year 2 by building autonomous agents and large action models that trigger process reviews and other business workflows. - Demonstrate ownership, propose technology breakthroughs, and educate non‑technical stakeholders on AI solutions. **Key Responsibilities** - Extract, clean, and format documents for ingestion into a vector‑search knowledge base. - Build a RAG engine using Vertex AI Search, Conversation, and vector search APIs. - Prototype AI agents with Vertex AI Model Garden (Gemini), Cloud Functions, AppSheet, and AI Studio. - Design and implement AI‑augmented Workspace workflows that read and act on data. - Maintain data hygiene, ensuring compliance and confidentiality. - Translate business rules into BPMN models and code. - Communicate technical concepts to quality auditors and process experts. - Document architecture, processes, and lessons learned for knowledge transfer. **Required Skills** *Hard skills* - Python (data manipulation, API integration) - Google Cloud Platform: Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, AppSheet, AI Studio, Drive API - Retrieval-Augmented Generation concepts, vector indexing, prompt engineering - Cloud architecture fundamentals - Process modeling (BPMN) *Soft skills* - Self‑directed project ownership, minimal supervision needed - Clear pedagogical communication of complex AI concepts to non‑technical audiences - Proactive proposal of innovative solutions and willingness to challenge status quo **Required Education & Certifications** - Engineering school degree, Master’s, or equivalent in Computer Science with a focus on AI, Data Engineering, or Cloud computing. ---
