Job title: Analytics Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, databases, and ETL processes to transform raw maritime transport data into reliable business intelligence. Ensure data quality, governance, and performance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support strategic decision‑making.
Expectations:
- Produce scalable, high‑quality data solutions that enable efficient operations and strategic insight.
- Manage data assets in compliance with governance, security, and privacy regulations.
- Deliver clear documentation, reports, dashboards, and automation to improve team productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines and architecture for multiple data sources.
- Monitor and improve data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Maintain relational/non‑relational databases, data lakes, and cloud storage.
- Develop and manage ETL workflows aligned with data governance.
- Document database structures, data flows, and processes.
- Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports (Power BI).
- Automate repetitive data tasks and standardize best practices.
- Facilitate data migration, integration, and cleansing during system updates.
- Stay current with emerging data engineering trends; share knowledge internally.
- Participate in change management and ensure compliance with regulations (GDPR).
- Contribute to priority innovation projects and strategic data initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Advanced SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Programming in at least one language (Python, R, Java, Scala).
- Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Microsoft Fabric, GCP, Databricks, AWS).
- Strong data modelling, warehousing, and ETL design skills.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices (GDPR).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Professional certifications in data engineering, SQL, cloud platforms, or Power BI preferred but not mandatory.
