Job Description

Job Title: Embedded Linux Engineer Role Summary: Engage in embedded Linux development for a client, producing Yocto images, integrating device drivers, and performing hardware‑software testing over a 6‑month onsite contract. Expactations: Deliver functional code, documentation, and test results within the contract timeframe while collaborating closely with hardware and firmware teams. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain Yocto-based distributions and custom recipes. - Port and debug embedded C drivers for microcontrollers. - Implement and test I²C, Ethernet, and USB interfaces. - Integrate drivers with application layer and conduct system‑level validation. - Provide bug fixes, performance improvements, and regression testing. - Maintain version control and continuous integration pipelines. Required Skills: Embedded Linux, Yocto Project, GNU toolchain, embedded C, ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers, I²C/Ethernet/USB protocols, GDB/OpenOCD debugging, Bash/Python scripting, Git, CI/CD practices. Required Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) or equivalent embedded systems certification preferred.
