Job Description
Job title: Senior Data Engineer – GCP Cloud Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of modern data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams, ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑performance data solutions that align with business objectives. Expectations: - Proven experience architecting and deploying large‑scale data pipelines in GCP. - Mastery of GCP data services: Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, BI Engine, Workflows, Looker. - Proficiency with big‑data processing frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop. - Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical knowledge sharing. - Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build data architectures that leverage managed GCP services. - Conduct client assessments, architecture studies, and FinOps/DevOps planning for modern data platform adoption. - Own end‑to‑end deployment of cloud‑native applications and migration of existing workloads. - Deliver expert technical support to project teams and clients, including training on GCP data tools. - Establish and maintain quality standards (robustness, performance, scalability, clarity). - Perform continuous market and technology watch to inform platform evolution. Required Skills: - Deep knowledge of GCP data ecosystem and best practices. - Hands‑on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, BI Engine, Workflows, Looker. - Strong command of Spark/Hadoop for large‑scale data transformation. - Experience with DevOps/FinOps principles in a cloud context. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and mentorship abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer) strongly preferred.
