Job title: Project Manager
Role Summary:
Lead and coordinate the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of a portfolio of European Commission-funded scientific projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Expectations:
- Deliver project management and coordination functions for all EC projects within the portfolio.
- Demonstrate autonomy, strategic thinking, and a proactive, can‑do attitude while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and monitor consortium-wide engagement and project activities; report status to leadership and funders.
- Manage work plans, identify divergences, and recommend improvements.
- Review, edit, and proof‑read deliverables and reports to meet project specifications and guidelines.
- Lead coordination meetings with partners, internal teams, and European Commission project officers; chair stakeholder sessions.
- Represent the organization in relevant committees, working groups, and external meetings.
- Design and manage processes, tools, and ecosystems for quality control, monitoring, and performance management.
- Oversee milestones, KPIs, risk management, publications, outputs, and other reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with finance to set budgets, track expenditures, and flag variances; provide financial data for periodic reports.
- Develop standardized templates for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with finance.
- Improve coordination workflows, procedures, and IT tools; adopt best practices.
- Analyze monitoring and reporting data to detect trends, mitigate risks, and raise issues to leadership.
- Prepare performance reports for governing bodies and stakeholders.
- Manage and refine dashboards and visualization tools for project reporting.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience managing European (EC) funded projects, preferably in academic or non‑profit science contexts.
- Strong written and verbal communication; drafting content for various channels (web, social media, press).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere).
- Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution; self‑driven, organized, proactive, and able to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with academic research, science/technology sectors, and European research funding landscape.
- Knowledge of EU platforms and consultancy contracts for funded projects is advantageous.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., project management, science, engineering, or related discipline).
