Job title: DevOps Engineer / Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and operation of secure, scalable cloud services on Azure, Kubernetes, and VMs. Drive automation, CI/CD, IaC, and SRE practices, and provide technical guidance across cross‑functional teams.
Expectations: Own complex cloud initiatives, mentor junior engineers, enforce best practices, and ensure high availability of production services. Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation and collaborate with security, networking, testing, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy cloud architectures using Azure, Kubernetes, VMs, and container platforms.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions (or equivalent).
- Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform (preferred) and Ansible.
- Lead SRE activities: reliability, availability, performance monitoring, incident response, and post‑mortem analysis.
- Participate in 24/7 on‑call support for live services and core cloud platforms.
- Mentor and review work of junior/mid‑level cloud engineers.
- Produce technical design documents, runbooks, and operational handover materials.
- Enforce change control, security policies, and governance standards.
- Collaborate with PMs, security, networking, testing, and application teams on project delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience leading cloud or SRE initiatives in complex environments.
- Deep knowledge of Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub/GitHub Actions, and IaC.
- Strong DevOps background: CI/CD, automation, and IaC.
- Networking fundamentals: load balancing, firewalls, routing, network security.
- Hands‑on experience with VM‑based and containerised workloads.
- Ability to troubleshoot production cloud issues.
- Agile or project‑based delivery experience.
- Willingness to join a 24/7 on‑call rota.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant cloud certifications (Azure, Kubernetes, or Terraform) preferred; training available.
