**Job Title**
Transmission Design Engineer (Electrical, Civil, or Structural)
**Role Summary**
Design, analyze, and support high‑voltage (60 kV–500 kV) transmission line projects. Work within multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports, and provide expertise during construction, commissioning, and maintenance. Evaluate design risks, ensure compliance with safety standards, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and mentor junior engineers.

- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring constructability and safety.
- Meet project timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards and software tools.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Perform discipline‑specific engineering studies (electrical, civil, or structural) for transmission line projects.
2. Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
3. Participate in project planning, cost estimating, and technical evaluations.
4. Provide technical support during design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
5. Review consultant and contractor deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
6. Conduct constructability reviews and resolve design challenges.
7. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
8. Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency with industry software (PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Tower, SES‑CDEGS, EMTP‑RV, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
- Experience in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, EMF analysis, or tower/foundation design (depending on discipline).
- Ability to coordinate with contractors and consultants.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, or eligible for immediate registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in transmission line or power infrastructure projects within the utility sector.
