Job title: Java/Azure Developer
Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java‑based backend services deployed on Microsoft Azure. Lead cloud architecture, containerization, and event‑driven integration for high‑throughput, regulated environments.
Expectations:
- 11+ years of Java development with deep experience in building maintainable, performance‑optimized services.
- 3+ years of cloud architecture, focusing on Azure services (AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps).
- Proven ability to design and implement event‑driven systems using Kafka, Service Bus, or equivalent messaging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, IaC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Familiarity with banking or financial services domain, especially regulated, highly secure, and audit‑ready systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop new and existing Java services with cloud‑native patterns on Azure.
- Build, test, and deploy containerized microservices to AKS; manage rolling upgrades, scaling, and health monitoring.
- Design event‑driven pipelines, publish/subscribe topics, and integrate Kafka-based messaging for data flow.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions) that automate build, test, security scanning, and deployment.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and compliance with regulatory standards (SOX, PCI, GDPR).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (DevOps, Security, Product, Compliance) to deliver secure, resilient solutions.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and propose long‑term mitigations.
Required Skills:
- Java 8/11/17+, Spring/Spring Boot, JUnit, Mockito, Maven/Gradle.
- Microsoft Azure: AKS, Azure Container Registry, Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Monitor, App Service, Key Vault.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
- Event‑driven architecture: Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid.
- CI/CD & IaC: Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Terraform/ARM/Bicep, Helm Charts.
- Cloud security practices, network ACLs, identity & access management (AAD, RBAC).
- Monitoring, logging (ELK/EFK, Azure Monitor), and alerting.
- Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Optional but preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or equivalent Azure certification.
