**Job Title:** Senior System Administrator (Remote)
**Role Summary:**
Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of an enterprise IT environment focused on SCCM, SCOM, Azure monitoring, and related observability tools. Deliver high‑availability solutions through configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
**Expectations:**
- Work independently in a fully remote capacity.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of infrastructure stability and performance.
- Communicate technical status clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive, versioned documentation for all projects and changes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer and update the SCCM platform and its dependencies (SQL Server, SCOM agents, management servers).
- Serve as the primary escalation point for SCOM‑related incidents, diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Windows servers, hypervisors, and related software.
- Design and implement monitoring dashboards, alerts, and analytics using Azure Monitor, Azure Insights, Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent tools.
- Evaluate and coordinate with third‑party vendors for support, incident management, and product integrations.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster‑recovery strategy development.
- Produce clear, stakeholder‑friendly documentation of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient with Microsoft SCCM (packaging, deployment, reporting) and SCOM.
- Experienced with Azure monitoring and analytics (Azure Monitor, Azure Insight, Azure Analytics).
- Strong troubleshooting skills on Windows Server environments.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL Server (installation, backup, performance tuning).
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware).
- Knowledge of advanced monitoring solutions (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear documentation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: System Center Administrator).
- Additional certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or relevant Azure/VMware credentials are desirable.
