Job Title:
Data & Analytics Specialist
Role Summary:
Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines, develop interactive dashboards and predictive models, and lead data governance initiatives to empower evidence‑based decision‑making across the organization.
Expectations:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
- Proven expertise in SQL and BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Hands‑on experience designing data pipelines, relational/ dimensional models, and scalable analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, privacy regulations (GDPR, PIPEDA), and compliance requirements.
- Programming proficiency in Python, R, or equivalent automation/analytics languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication and ability to translate complex insights to non‑technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain scalable data pipelines and automated workflows that feed analytics and reporting.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards, ad‑hoc reports, and predictive models that support cross‑department decision‑making.
- Define, implement, and monitor data governance processes to ensure data quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with business stakeholders to capture data requirements and translate them into actionable analytics solutions.
- Conduct data literacy training, produce documentation, and provide guidance to enhance organizational data fluency.
Required Skills:
- Advanced SQL querying and performance tuning.
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).
- Data pipeline and architecture design (ETL/ELT, data lake/warehouse).
- Data governance, privacy, compliance (GDPR, PIPEDA, or similar).
- Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics or related field preferred.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or equivalent are advantageous.
