Job Description
Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer – Identity & Access Role Summary Lead and execute enterprise IT infrastructure projects covering on‑premises and cloud environments, with a focus on Identity & Access (Microsoft Entra, SSO, SCIM, Azure B2C). Act as a subject‑matter expert, mentor peers, and drive security‑aligned design and deployment across the organization’s digital transformation initiatives. Expactations - Deliver quality projects on time and within scope, aligning with IT strategy and business objectives. - Provide guidance, technical ownership, and mentorship to Infrastructure Support and End User Computing staff. - Champion continuous improvement and security best practices in identity solutions. - Maintain flexibility to support projects or operational tasks across the IT Infrastructure portfolio. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions (on‑premises and cloud) for Identity & Access services. - Lead project phases from discovery to delivery, coordinating cross‑functional teams. - Serve as SME on Microsoft Entra platform, including application configuration, identity governance, and complex problem resolution. - Recommend and implement improvements, responding to security trends and incidents. - Support development of IT strategy, roadmap, and best‑practice designs in collaboration with Security and End User Computing. - Train and mentor team members on infrastructure and identity concepts. - Provide technical assistance to the Sunbelt 4.0 digital transformation program. - Ensure flexible availability for additional project or support work across the IT Infrastructure spectrum. Required Skills - Proven experience delivering large‑scale IT infrastructure projects in an enterprise setting. - Deep expertise in Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), SSO, SCIM, Azure B2C, and identity governance processes. - Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities. - Analytical thinker with strong problem‑solving skills. - Experience in multi‑site network environments. - Self‑motivated, positive attitude, and ability to motivate others. - Willingness to continuously advance knowledge in IT infrastructure. - Full driver’s licence. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, and/or Identity and Access Management certifications. **Job Title** Apprentice Cyber Security Analyst **Role Summary** The apprenticeship delivers a 21‑month structured learning program culminating in a Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist qualification. Trainees join the central support office as a key SOC team member, monitoring XDR and SIEM platforms, triaging alerts, investigating incidents, and implementing remediation plans while gaining hands‑on experience in detection engineering, vulnerability management, and phishing simulations. **Expectations** - Complete the Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist apprenticeship standard with industry‑recognised training. - Participate in regular mentorship, workplace learning, and remote coaching to achieve qualification. - Pass a DBS check and be willing to commute to other business sites if required. - Demonstrate continuous learning, initiative, and collaboration within a fast‑paced security operations environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Monitor XDR and SIEM tools to detect security incidents. - Maintain security baseline; perform routine checks and report findings. - Triage and document alerts, escalating appropriately. - Support incident investigations: collect evidence, analyse logs/artefacts, aid containment and recovery. - Verify vulnerabilities, prioritise remediation based on risk, and liaise with IT teams to track fixes. - Plan, execute, and report on phishing simulations and awareness campaigns. - Contribute to detection engineering and automation/scripting to optimise SOC efficiency. - Collaborate across departments, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines. **Required Skills** - Logical, analytical, and methodical thinking. - Creative problem‑solving and initiative. - Strong written and verbal communication. - Attention to detail and responsible behaviour. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders. - Flexibility, adaptability, and time‑management. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum 5 GCSEs, Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English. - Additional qualification: A Level (Grades A‑C) or BTEC Level 3 (must include an IT‑related subject), or a prior Level 3 apprenticeship with significant IT experience. - Pursuing or awarded Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist apprenticeship qualification. - DBS check clearance required. ---
