**Job Title:** Cloud Platform Engineer – OpenShift
**Role Summary:**
Design, deploy, and operate enterprise‑scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on‑prem datacenter environments. Partner with SRE, security, networking, and program teams to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and observability of the platform while driving automation and continuous improvement.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver robust, secure OpenShift infrastructures on schedule.
- Automate provisioning, lifecycle management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain platform reliability through monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to align technical solutions with business roadmaps and compliance requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and manage highly available OpenShift 4.x clusters (install, upgrade, patch, scale).
- Build and automate datacenter compute, storage, and networking using IaC (Terraform, Ansible, GitOps).
- Integrate OpenShift with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).
- Perform advanced Linux (RHEL) system administration, performance tuning, and kernel/network/storage troubleshooting.
- Define SLOs/SLIs, implement observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and handle incident RCA.
- Enforce RBAC, security policies, and compliance controls; support vulnerability management.
- Document architecture, standards, and operational procedures; assist program management with milestone tracking.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years Linux systems engineering (RHEL).
- 3+ years hands‑on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x) design and operations.
- Strong Kubernetes architecture knowledge.
- Networking expertise: DNS, load balancing, firewalls, SDN.
- Storage expertise: SAN, NAS, CSI drivers.
- Virtualization experience (VMware or similar).
- Automation/IaC: Terraform, Ansible, GitOps workflows.
- CI/CD pipeline development.
- Monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Effective collaboration and communication in matrixed, large‑scale environments.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Red Hat OpenShift Certification.
