**Job Title:** Middleware Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Provide 24/7 production support and lifecycle management for enterprise middleware platforms (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss EAP, WebLogic, IIS, HTTP, HTTPS, MQ, Axway, Kubernetes, Kafka). Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrades, tuning, security, backup, and disaster recovery across AIX, Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments.
**Expectations:**
- 12‑month contract, hybrid (3 days onsite).
- On‑call rotation with weekend coverage.
- Self‑starter, detail‑oriented, collaborative in global teams.
- Rapid adaptation to evolving infrastructure and banking processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Install, upgrade, and configure middleware components (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, IHS/Apache, IIS).
2. Create & manage WebSphere profiles, clusters, node agents; configure JDBC and JMS providers.
3. Perform workload management, clustering, and performance tuning.
4. Implement security (SSL, LDAP, global security), backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
5. Deploy and administrate applications on heterogeneous servers (AIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows).
6. Develop and maintain Bash/PowerShell scripts; automate processes with Ansible and Python.
7. Identify and mitigate operational risks; collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams.
8. Interface with external vendors for complex cross‑platform issue resolution.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep experience with WebSphere Application Server 7.x/8.x, Apache/IIS, Tomcat, JBoss EAP, WebLogic.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP servers (IHS, Apache) and file‑transfer protocols (HTTP, HTTPS).
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
- Programming in Python; automation with Ansible.
- Familiarity with Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase SQL databases.
- Experience on AIX, Solaris, Linux, Windows platforms.
- Understanding of disaster‑recovery, compliance, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM WebSphere Application Server, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
