Job Description
**Job Title** Forestry & Natural Heritage Summer Student **Role Summary** Independent field staff member supporting the Natural Heritage program. Conducts forest inventory, surveys invasive species, and assists with various natural heritage projects throughout the summer season. **Expectations** - Student age 30 or younger, enrolled in university or college (undergraduate/graduate). - Work 35 hours per week from May 4 to August 21, 2026, all weather conditions. - Own and wear approved safety boots, hold a valid driver’s license and student ID, and meet seasonal availability. **Key Responsibilities** - Perform standard forest plantation inventories and data collection. - Survey, document, and manage invasive plant species in natural areas. - Operate field equipment, mobile devices, and GIS applications for mapping and data entry. - Collaborate with Natural Heritage staff on project tasks and reporting. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in forest inventory protocols and plant identification (Ontario trees, shrubs, non‑native species). - Experience using mobile data collection apps and GIS software for mapping. - Ability to navigate natural terrains independently and safely. - Valid driver’s license; own Green Patch CSA‑approved safety boots. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Ecosystem Management, Biology, or related program. - Minimum of junior‑year standing (or equivalent field experience). - Valid university/college student ID. - Knowledge of First Aid/CPR is an asset but not mandatory.

Job Description
Job Title: Co‑Director: Finance, Fundraising & Governance Role Summary: Senior executive responsible for financial stewardship, fundraising, and non‑profit governance within an outdoor education organization. Shares leadership of the organization with the existing Co‑Director and supports board functions, budgeting, grant strategy and operational stability during a growth phase. Expectations: - Deliver financial oversight and reporting that supports board decision‑making. - Develop and implement fundraising plans, grant applications, and donor stewardship initiatives. - Ensure compliance with non‑profit governance requirements and pursue charitable status. - Lead cross‑functional teams on strategic planning, OKR implementation and organizational improvement. - Build trust and collaboration with staff, volunteers, partners, and the board within a year‑long contract leading to potential permanent appointment. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain bylaws, conduct board meetings, AGM planning and board engagement. - Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal accountability. - Lead a small finance team, develop financial policies, and prepare financial reports for board review. - Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, identify grant opportunities, and manage donor relations. - Lead strategic planning initiatives, coordinate OKR development, and produce annual, grant and special reports. - Foster land‑based partnerships, parental and volunteer committee collaboration, and community stakeholder relations. Required Skills: - 3‑5 years in nonprofit senior leadership, finance or fundraising roles. - Proficiency in nonprofit financial systems, budgeting, and reporting. - Strong grant writing, campaign planning, and donor stewardship expertise. - Experience with board governance and policy development. - Project management, team leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. - Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and collaborative leadership style. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Non‑profit Management, or related field (preferred). - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional credential highly desirable. - Training or certification in nonprofit governance (e.g., Fundraising or Board Development courses) is a plus.
