Job Description

**Job Title** Java Microservices Developer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java microservices for enterprise applications. Build RESTful APIs, integrate third‑party services, and implement CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and secure deployment on cloud platforms. **Expectations** 12‑month contract (extendable). Must be locally based in Massachusetts or nearby. Strong commitment to Agile delivery and quality code practices. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect and implement microservices using Java 8/11/17 with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. - Design and expose RESTful APIs; integrate with external services. - Apply microservice patterns (API Gateway, Service Discovery, Circuit Breaker). - Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments. - Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.). - Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) and enforce code quality. - Collaborate with UI, DevOps, QA, and Product teams in Agile/Scrum ceremonies. - Monitor application performance, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents. **Required Skills** - 5+ years professional Java development experience. - Proficient with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservice architecture. - REST API design and implementation. - Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). - Messaging systems: Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Databases: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB). - CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc. - Version control: Git. **Preferred Skills** - API Gateways: Zuul, Kong, Apigee. - OAuth2 / JWT security. - Caching (Redis). - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). - Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK. **Required Education & Certifications** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
