Job Description

Job title: Cyber Security Engineer Role Summary: Design, build, and maintain enterprise security platforms in cloud and on‑prem environments, conduct audits, harden systems, and advise stakeholders on security posture. Expactations: Deliver security solutions that meet business objectives, collaborate across teams, and mentor colleagues while working independently as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Review designs for security controls and recommend enhancements. - Plan, engineer, and implement security technologies (SIEM/SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management). - Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure on AWS, on‑prem, and SaaS solutions. - Perform regular security audits and assessments; document findings and improve controls. - Harden hosts, operating systems, and networks; monitor and log with best practices. - Research emerging security technologies and assess applicability. - Create and maintain SOPs, protocols, and documentation. - Cross‑train and mentor team members. Required Skills: - 5+ years implementing advanced cybersecurity technology in complex environments. - 5+ years scripting (Python, Go, or equivalent). - 3+ years automation (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). - 5+ years Linux system administration; strong networking architecture knowledge. - Experience with SIEM/SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, anomaly detection, and cloud analysis tools. - Hands‑on with AWS and public cloud infrastructures. - Knowledge of Brinqa vulnerability platform and Groovy programming. - Understanding of information security principles, policy frameworks, and compliance/regulatory impacts. Required Education & Certifications: - Certifications preferred: CISSP, Splunk Admin, AWS Solution Architect, or equivalent. - No formal education required.
