**Job Title:**
Technical Writer, Publications
**Role Summary:**
Creates, updates, and manages technical service publications—including service manuals, bulletins, owner’s guides, and troubleshooting documents—for an electric‑vehicle manufacturer’s dealer network, service partners, and internal teams. Ensures content accuracy, clarity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with engineering intent while supporting field service and training initiatives.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑quality, technically accurate documentation on schedule.
- Translate complex engineering data into clear, technician‑focused instructions.
- Maintain strict version control and adhere to editorial and compliance standards.
- Collaborate proactively with engineering, quality, legal, warranty, and manufacturing groups.
- Exhibit strong self‑direction, accountability, and adaptability in a fast‑moving environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Author and maintain technical service publications (bulletins, manuals, repair instructions, recall notices, field‑service campaigns).
- Produce owner‑facing documents (owner’s manuals, quick‑start guides, delivery paperwork).
- Gather and validate technical information from Engineering and Service Engineering teams.
- Develop and enforce documentation templates, style guides, and workflow processes.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Warranty to ensure safety and regulatory content.
- Manage controlled document revisions and versioning in the company’s DMS.
- Create or commission illustrations, diagrams, and step‑by‑step visuals.
- Provide content for technician certification and training programs.
- Contribute to technical and design reviews to anticipate documentation needs.
- Publish electronic documents to the service portal, ensuring accessibility and searchability.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven technical writing experience in automotive, EV, or mechanical product environments.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret engineering specifications and diagnostic data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; detail‑oriented with high accuracy.
- Project‑management capability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with document control systems, CMS, and illustration tools (e.g., Visio, Illustrator) preferred.
- Effective interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Professional technical writing certification (e.g., Certified Technical Writer) or equivalent preferred.
