Job Title: Fraud or Credit Analytics Consultant
Role Summary:
Provide strategic advisory on credit, fraud, and payment risk management for telecom and consumer‑facing portfolios. Evaluate, redesign, and optimize underwriting frameworks, decision models, risk segmentation, fraud detection, and controls. Operate as a second line of defense, delivering independent oversight and actionable recommendations that balance growth, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.
Expectations:
- 9+ month contract (hybrid delivery).
- Periodic travel across the East Coast to client sites.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior risk and product leaders.
- Translate advanced analytics into clear, strategic business decisions.
- Maintain strong independent assessment standpoint.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and enhance credit and fraud risk strategies, policies, and underwriting frameworks.
2. Assess decisioning models, risk segmentation, and approval/decline mechanisms for effectiveness.
3. Examine and strengthen fraud detection/prevention controls and payment‑risk mitigation tactics.
4. Provide second‑line oversight, challenging first‑line assumptions and practices.
5. Evaluate governance, risk appetite alignment, control environments, and regulatory compliance across business units.
6. Collaborate with risk, analytics, operations, and product stakeholders to recommend data‑driven process improvements.
7. Apply advanced analytics, performance monitoring, and KPI tracking to drive portfolio optimization and loss reduction.
8. Deliver strategic recommendations that balance growth, customer experience, and risk mitigation.
Required Skills:
- Deep experience in credit risk analytics and/or fraud risk strategy.
- Proven track record in telecom, fintech, banking, or payments.
- Expertise in underwriting, fraud detection models, policy design, and portfolio performance management.
- Familiarity with second‑line-of‑defence frameworks and independent oversight.
- Strong stakeholder communication and influence skills.
- Ability to synthesize analytics into scalable strategic actions.
- Comfortable with travel and hybrid work environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced analytics or risk certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, Six Sigma, CAP) preferred.
