**Job Title:** Engineering Manager, Infrastructure
**Role Summary:**
Lead a team of 2–3 full‑time engineers and 2 interns to design, build, and operate scalable AWS‑based infrastructure. Drive DevOps strategy, accelerate deployment pipelines, improve developer productivity, and enable AI tooling across the organization. Own infrastructure reliability, cost optimization, and talent growth.
**Expectations:**
- Manage team staffing (hiring, mentoring, retention).
- Deliver high‑impact projects end‑to‑end in a data‑driven, iterative environment.
- Architect and enforce DevOps workflows, infrastructure as code, and monitoring best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, including design documentation and problem resolution.
- Collaborate across engineering and non‑engineering teams; represent infrastructure in OKR and roadmap discussions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build, maintain, and ensure high availability of AWS cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, RDS, Terraform).
- Lead and scale CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, automated testing, and deployment automation.
- Implement and evolve monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing systems (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
- Optimize infrastructure cost and performance, delivering measurable savings.
- Mentor developers on best practices for DevOps, tooling, and AI integration.
- Participate as an individual contributor on critical design and troubleshooting tasks.
- Manage hiring process, interview pipelines, and team performance reviews.
**Required Skills:**
- 1+ years as infrastructure engineering manager or 3+ years as senior infrastructure engineer with proven mentorship and hiring experience.
- Expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring/alerting (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana), logging, and tracing.
- Solid technical foundation in networking, POSIX OS, and backend software engineering.
- Proficient scripting in a modern language (Python, Bash), and comfortable reviewing code changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for design docs and cross‑team coordination.
- Demonstrated success delivering large features/projects and managing agile processes.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications in cloud or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator) are desirable but not mandatory.
