Job Description
Job title: Category Manager – Off‑Trade Role Summary: Own and execute off‑trade category strategies for French customers, driving market share growth through shopper insights, partnership with Key Account Management, and cross‑functional collaboration. Expectations: Deliver measurable category performance improvements, lead innovation and merchandising reviews, build category development practices, and cultivate a high‑performance sales culture. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement category plans for approved French off‑trade accounts, focusing on shopper insights and promotional impact. - Lead customer meetings (market/review, assortment recommendation, merchandising) and present actionable recommendations. - Identify and prioritize category development opportunities, benchmark against competitors, and track performance against share‑of‑market goals. - Provide purchaser‑specific insights to inform commercial propositions and customer review agendas. - Build and manage customer engagement programs (e.g., category management initiatives, purchaser marketing). - Create and share inspirational content (inspiration decks, sell‑in decks, activation ideas) across markets. - Deliver regular performance reports and analytics to business stakeholders. - Champion the adoption of category development best‑practice database and “share‑steal‑re‑apply” culture. - Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, and Sales teams to align strategy and execution. Required Skills: - 2‑3 yrs experience in off‑trade commercial roles, retail category management, or buyer positions. - Strong analytical skills with experience using Nielsen IQ or similar data tools. - Proven project management ability and delivery of cross‑functional initiatives. - Fluency in English; French is preferred. - Commercial mindset, team spirit, and willingness to embed category expertise company‑wide. - Experience in shopper marketing excellence or buyer‑centric programs is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Any relevant certification in category management, marketing analytics, or project management is advantageous.
