Job title: Fabrication Assembler
Role Summary: Design‑specific aircraft interior assembly specialist building custom components from raw materials, interpreting technical drawings, and operating hand and power tools. Works through all production stages from first article to final ship‑ready finish, ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.
Expectations: Entry to senior levels (FA 1 – FA 3).
• Level 1: 0–2 years aerospace manufacturing experience; supervised work on first‑article parts.
• Level 2: 2–5 years experience; independent execution and documentation of assembly, supports customer pickups, prototypes.
• Level 3: 5+ years aerospace manufacturing; autonomous on highly complex assemblies, problem‑solving, mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions.
2. Fabricate interior panels and assemblies (carb‑fibre, honeycomb core, aluminum, etc.) using hand and power tools (routers, saws, drill presses).
3. Execute bonding, laminating, and mechanical fastening (latches, hinges, brackets).
4. Apply decorative finishes, create vinyl laminates, and perform precise bending with jigs/fixtures.
5. Conduct visual inspections, in‑process rework, and record quality control data.
6. Handle materials, adhesives, resins, fabric, and carpet efficiently.
7. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area, adhere to safety protocols.
8. Collaborate with team members, communicate progress and issues.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled use of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of aerospace fabrication materials and bonding processes.
- Strong attention to detail and visual inspection technique.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting.
- Team collaboration and effective communication.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure.
Required Education & Certifications:
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in welding, machining, or safety (e.g., OSHA 10/30, quality certification) is a plus.
