Job Description

Job title: Apprentice Fire and Security Engineer Role Summary: Acquire hands‑on experience installing, maintaining and repairing fire and security systems while you progress through a registered apprenticeship programme. Expectations: - Demonstrate enthusiasm for engineering and technology - Maintain a professional, reliable, and punctual work ethic - Communicate effectively with team members and clients Key Responsibilities • Assist qualified engineers with installation, servicing, and repair of fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems • Perform fault‑finding, testing and commissioning of fire & security equipment • Work safely on customer sites, adhering to industry standards and safety procedures • Attend apprenticeship college courses and integrate classroom learning with practical tasks • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status Required Skills • Passion for hands‑on technical work • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Self‑motivated, reliable, and committed to continuous learning • Basic mathematical ability for calibration and documentation Required Education & Certifications • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (desirable) • Progressing through a nationally recognised Fire & Security apprenticeship qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
