Job Description

**Job Title**: Information Security Firewall Auditor **Role Summary**: Remote auditor responsible for reviewing Palo Alto firewall changes, threat intelligence, and ensuring adherence to security policies. Works closely with IT teams to analyze logs, troubleshoot incidents, and recommend improvements to strengthen technical and business security posture. **Expectations**: - Deliver accurate, detailed audit reports and remediation recommendations. - Maintain clear, up‑to‑date documentation of findings and compliance status. - Proactively monitor network endpoints using discovery tools (Censys/EASM). - Communicate findings effectively to non‑technical stakeholders. - Operate independently while collaborating closely with remote teammates. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. Administer and audit firewall changes, conducting post‑implementation reviews for compliance and effectiveness. 2. Use discovery tools to detect new Internet endpoints and assess their security risk. 3. Perform regular audits of firewall rule sets to ensure alignment with security policies and industry best practices. 4. Analyze firewall logs for anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and support incident response activities. 5. Collaborate with IT to convey findings and deliver actionable, business‑aligned recommendations. 6. Document audit findings, remediation actions, and compliance reports. 7. Stay current with Palo Alto firewall updates, features, and emerging security trends. **Required Skills**: - Proven experience auditing and administering Palo Alto firewalls. - Deep understanding of firewall principles, rule sets, and traffic flow. - Proficiency in analyzing firewall logs and troubleshooting network problems. - Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, FTP, Telnet, SSH). - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. - High ethical standards, meticulous attention to detail. - Self‑driven, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant firewall or security certification (e.g., Palo Alto Certified Network Defender or equivalent).
