Job Description
**Job Title** Senior DevOps Engineer (eDV) **Role Summary** Lead end‑to‑end delivery of secure cloud‑native applications for government & defense clients. Own feature‑team responsibilities, from architecture to production operationalization, using Agile, CI/CD, IaC, and containerisation across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments. Mentor junior team members and maintain industry‑leading security and compliance standards. **Expectations** - Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget while maintaining high security and quality. - Continuously modernise platform services and tooling to align with evolving technologies. - Act as a trusted advisor to customers on technology choices and solutions. - Maintain and grow a high‑level (eDV) security clearance. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Terraform, Packer, Vault, Artifactory). - Implement and manage containerised services in Kubernetes & Docker, including Helm charts and operator patterns. - Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code for AWS, Azure, and on‑prem resources. - Operate and monitor solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, and custom dashboards. - Lead Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Retrospectives) using Scrum & Kanban practices. - Mentor and support early‑career staff on DevOps principles, tooling, and best practices. - Collaborate with architecture, security and operational teams to enforce compliance, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding standards. - Provide technical consultancy to customers for product onboarding onto shared platform services. - Participate in incident response and post‑mortem analysis to drive continuous improvement. **Required Skills** - 5+ years of senior DevOps experience in cloud environments (AWS certified, Azure optional). - Proficiency with CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker), and artefact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus). - Strong command of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). - Experience with security tools (HashiCorp Vault, IAM, secrets management) and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001). - Hands‑on with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and event‑driven pipelines. - Solid software‑engineering fundamentals, scripting (Bash, Python, Node.js), and version control (Git). - Proven Agile leadership: Scrum Master or equivalent, facilitating Sprint ceremonies and backlog grooming. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (required). - Additional certifications (e.g., Kubernetes Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer) are advantageous. - Current high‑level security clearance (eDV).
