**Job title**: Business Data Analyst
**Role Summary**:
Analyze, clean, and interpret large-scale structured and unstructured data to support business decision‑making. Lead the design and development of ETL pipelines that ingest data into an AWS Data Lake, ensuring high quality and performance across cloud services. Collaborate with engineering peers on architecture, data modeling, and solution design.
**Expectations**:
- 3–6 years of experience as a Data Engineer or related role.
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on AWS experience, with strong knowledge of Glue, Athena, S3, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL scripting within Glue or SQL-based environments.
- Ability to research, prototype, and implement innovative ETL and data‑cleaning solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design, code, and maintain complex ETL scripts in AWS Glue or SQL.
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse source systems into a unified Data Lake.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance through rigorous testing and optimization.
- Participate in architecture reviews, share design knowledge, and mentor peers.
- Identify and resolve challenges related to ETL performance, data cleanup, and scalability.
**Required Skills**:
- 3–6 years in data engineering or a related field.
- 1+ year of AWS cloud experience.
- Hands‑on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), cloud warehouses (Redshift, Athena), and data lake services.
- Strong SQL, Python/Shell scripting, and ETL development expertise.
- Familiarity with AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, RDS, and Athena.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively on architecture and design.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (preferred).
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous.
