Job Title: Software Engineer – Internal R&D Role Summary: Develop advanced mathematics and physics‑intensive software solutions for high‑performance defense systems in a collaborative IRAD environment, while actively participating in requirement reviews and test case development. Expactations: - 3–5 years of professional experience in C++ or Java development (minimum 3 years). - Proficiency in Python or MATLAB and strong Unix/Linux system skills. - Current, active DoD‑issued Secret clearance (must be in place at hire). - Rapid learning and absorption of complex technical concepts. - Ability to work in an in‑person closed‑area environment. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze system requirements and translate them into scalable, algorithmic solutions. - Design, implement, test, debug, and document C++/Java code for demanding physics and math applications. - Support and review requirements, test cases, and verification activities. - Maintain and improve automated testing and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Coverity). - Containerize applications using Docker, Kubernetes and orchestrate deployments. - Apply static and dynamic code analysis, fuzzing, and BDD (Gherkin/Cucumber) for quality assurance. - Participate in software change control, change management, and compliance with security standards. - Leverage experience in MBSE, battle management, or fire control systems where applicable.
