**Job title**
AI Fellow (Artificial Intelligence) – University PSL (10 positions)
**Role Summary**
Three‑year research and teaching fellowship for early‑career researchers in artificial intelligence. Fellows will deliver undergraduate and graduate AI courses (in French and/or English), develop original curricula, and conduct high‑impact research within the PSL AI Cluster (PR[AI]RIE‑PSAI). Positions start between 1 July and 1 September 2026.
**Expactations**
- 80 hours of lecturing per year (equivalent to 120 TD hours).
- Active participation in PSL’s AI research agenda and contribution to international publications.
- Development of interdisciplinary AI modules (e.g., AI for sciences, computational social science, AI ethics & governance).
- Collaboration with PSL laboratories, CNRS, Inria, Institut Pasteur, and partner universities.
- Integration into the AI Cluster’s research projects and potential supervision of graduate students.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Teach core AI subjects: machine learning, statistical learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, computer vision, data science.
- Deliver specialized modules on AI applications in natural/scientific domains, social sciences, and ethical/regulatory aspects.
- Design and update course materials, labs, and assessment tools.
- Conduct independent or collaborative research in AI theory or applications across disciplines (physics, chemistry, life sciences, humanities, etc.).
- Publish research results in peer‑reviewed venues and present at conferences.
- Contribute to grant proposals and interdisciplinary projects within the PR[AI]RIE‑PSAI program.
- Mentor undergraduate/graduate students and assist in supervising theses.
**Required Skills**
- Strong research record in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related fields (publications in top conferences/journals).
- Ability to teach AI fundamentals and advanced topics to diverse audiences (both specialists and non‑specialists).
- Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent communication skills in English; French proficiency highly desirable.
- Experience developing curriculum or teaching materials at university level.
- Interdisciplinary mindset and capacity to apply AI methods to other scientific domains.
- Knowledge of AI ethics, governance, and societal impact preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- Post‑doctoral research experience is strongly preferred.
- No specific certifications required; evidence of teaching competence (e.g., teaching assistantship, lecturing experience) is expected.
