Job title: Cloud Engineer
Role Summary:
Designs, deploys, and manages cloud infrastructure for enterprise workloads. Collaborates with development, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available cloud services. Leads automation, monitoring, and optimization of cloud operations, and provides technical leadership for infrastructure teams.
Expectations:
- Deliver reliable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud solutions.
- Apply industry best practices in cloud architecture, DevOps, and automation.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to cross‑functional teams.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and operate cloud services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Migrate on‑premises server workloads to cloud platforms.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance using IaC tools.
- Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines for cloud applications and infrastructure.
- Build and maintain operational monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud environments.
- Administer hardware, operating systems, networking, and web services within the cloud.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud‑related issues.
- Lead or mentor a small team of systems/infrastructure engineers.
- Perform cost/benefit analyses for technology investments.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP (including compute, storage, networking, IAM).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V).
- Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Deployment Manager).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git, automated testing).
- Experience with source control systems (Git, SVN).
- Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and compliance in the cloud.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, network administration, security, DevOps, or web systems administration.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer) preferred but not mandatory.
