Job title: Healthcare IAM / RBAC Lead (Contract)
Role Summary: Lead identity and access readiness for a large-scale Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation in a Canadian healthcare setting, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant RBAC architecture.
Expactations: Drive IAM gap analysis, roadmap creation, and cross‑functional coordination; collaborate directly with clinicians, informatics, HR, and cybersecurity to align access models with clinical workflows and privacy regulations; monitor readiness and mitigate identity‑related risks throughout the CIS go‑live and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document current IAM environment (identity sources, authentication models, provisioning, role structures).
- Assess IAM processes, governance, and technologies to identify gaps impacting CIS adoption.
- Develop and maintain an IAM readiness plan, coordinating with project teams, vendors, and enterprise IAM staff.
- Define clinical roles and access requirements in collaboration with clinicians and operational staff.
- Design, govern, and support the CIS RBAC framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and policies.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with clinical, technical, and security stakeholders to validate role definitions and access needs.
- Coordinate IAM integrations with directory services, HR systems, authentication platforms, and identity lifecycle tools.
- Deliver organizational readiness for new IAM processes, including onboarding, access workflows, and support models.
- Monitor progress, track IAM risks, and troubleshoot issues affecting CIS implementation timelines.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years experience in Canadian healthcare information systems, standards, and technologies.
- Proven leadership in RBAC design/implementation for major Clinical Information Systems in acute care/hospital environments.
- Expertise in defining, configuring, and governing clinical roles for physicians and clinical users.
- Background in current‑state assessments, gap analysis, and IAM strategy planning for large healthcare organizations.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise IAM/IGA specialists, directory services, identity lifecycle management, authentication (MFA, SSO), and access governance frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills with clinicians, informatics teams, operational staff, and IT security.
- Ability to support integrations between clinical/enterprise systems and IAM platforms.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCISO, IOGP, or equivalent) preferred.
