Job Description

Job title: Full Stack Engineer Role Summary: Build scalable, data‑intensive web platforms that enable scientists to run and analyze biological simulations, combining Python backend services with Next.js/React frontends. Expectations: - Deliver end‑to‑end features in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. - Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable production code. - Own features from design through deployment and support. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain Python backend services (FastAPI) and data‑processing pipelines. - Create responsive frontend applications with Next.js, React, and TypeScript. - Design and expose RESTful APIs, ensuring performance and reliability. - Implement automated tests (pytest) and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions). - Collaborate with data scientists and researchers to translate experimental needs into technical solutions. - Contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure scaling strategies. Required Skills: - ≥2 years professional software development experience. - Strong Python proficiency (API and production services). - Experience building modern frontends with Next.js, React, and TypeScript. - Solid understanding of REST APIs, client‑server architecture, and web standards. - Competence with testing frameworks (pytest) and CI/CD pipelines. - Familiarity with Git, collaborative workflows, and code reviews. - Knowledge of Docker and containerised deployment concepts. - Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, ECR, Cognito) preferred. - Ability to work independently and manage ownership of features. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). (Note: Optional skills include Docker, AWS, MLflow, JupyterHub, Airflow, SQL/NoSQL databases, bioinformatics data formats, and ML/AI workflows.)
